This year the Andrews & Brunner Lecture will be given by Eric Maskin - the Nobel Prize Winner for his work on mechanism design theory.
Parliament voting systems suffer from various weaknesses. This lecture will demonstrate these weakness by referring to specific elections which have resulted in anomalies in the UK, the US and France. The lecture will demonstrate an effective remedy for these weaknesses, exploring the requirement for voters to rank candidates rather than select a single one.
