Seminar Series

World leading local, national and international speakers delivering engaging talks from across the biosciences.

The Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences is committed to developing the knowledge and interests of staff and students within our department. Throughout the Michaelmas, Lent and Summer terms, we host a dynamic seminar program delivered by internal and external students, researchers and academics.

The BLS Seminar Series provides an opportunity for staff and students to engage with cutting edge research from across the biosciences, focused principally around our Divisional Research Themes: Ageing and Neuroscience; Cancer Biology and Genome Stability; Microbes Pathogens and Immunity. PhD students and postdocs will be given an opportunity to meet with the speaker as a group whenever possible.

Seminars run between 13:00 and 14:00 on Wednesdays in term time. This year the seminar program will be a mix of in person and online events which will be hosted virtually through Microsoft Teams seminars are open to all staff and students of Lancaster University. If you would like to attend a virtual session as a guest or would like to arrange to meet individually with a seminar speaker from the upcoming schedule please contact the organiser Dr Richard Mort.

Lancaster University staff and students can view previous BLS seminars in our BLS Seminar Program team and on our BLS Seminar channel on MS Stream.
