Tab Content: Overview

Open Media is a media specialist that offers sophisticated and diverse ways of reaching target audiences. Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) is the fastest growing part of the market and provides some of the most innovative solutions when used creatively. Open operates around 30 DOOH LED screens across the UK, ranging in size, spec and location. It is not yet known how long these screens can operate for and little research has been done across the sector to develop a responsible operational plan, including end-of-life solutions for such screens. This research will use Open’s operational data, alongside information provided by suppliers and manufacturers, to develop a Life Cycle Assessment for such DOOH screens. This assessment will give options for potential reuse of screen elements and responsible recycling options for remaining parts.

This project has huge potential to deliver carbon savings across the sector, by reducing Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) waste, a growing waste stream which is notoriously difficult to manage.

Candidates will ideally have a 2:1 in a management or data science (or a related discipline). You should be highly motivated and comfortable handling and interrogating data.

Deadline for applications: Midnight Sunday 12th June 2022
