International Reach and Impact

Our primary strategic goal is to establish Lancaster University as a global leader in higher education. We define global leadership as being a ‘go to’ university for research and teaching that transforms lives, communities, practices and thinking across the globe.

Lancaster is constantly developing partnerships across the world to ensure it delivers teaching which takes students to the frontiers of knowledge and produces graduates who can compete in a global employment market.

In addition to numerous international research collaborations, Lancaster has four strategic overseas teaching partnerships, offering validated Lancaster University degrees in China, Germany, Ghana and Malaysia.

  • Lancaster University College - Beijing Jiaotong University, China

A joint institute with highly ranked partner Beijing Jiaotong University. Located in Weihai, Shandong province. Graduates receive a degree from both institutions and a joint academic transcript.

  • Lancaster University Ghana

The first British university branch campus in Ghana allows students across Africa to access Lancaster's academic excellence in teaching and research on the African continent.

  • Lancaster University Leipzig, Germany

Lancaster University's first campus in mainland Europe is in Leipzig, Germany. As part of its first phase of development, our Leipzig campus will offer four Lancaster accredited Bachelor of Science programmes taught by the University, and a University accredited foundation programme operated by our partners Navitas.

  • Sunway University, Malaysia

Sunway University and Lancaster University established an academic partnership in 2006. Under this institutional arrangement, students are able to study on a range of undergraduate degree schemes and graduate from both Sunway University and Lancaster University.
