This call is part of Lancaster’s Impact Acceleration Account programme (2022-2025) and is designed to support projects that generate impact by applying research into real world settings with an external partner. For this call, we require teams to comprise of researchers across both arts and humanities and engineering and physical sciences, and for the proposed activity to be interdisciplinary in nature. See the eligibility criteria below for further explanation of this.

The full cost of your activity can be up to £25,000, but we also encourage projects to submit applications for lesser amounts for small-scale, pilot activity. The IAA will cover 100% of direct costs.

2. Pre call events and information sessions

To help potential applicants prepare, we issued a ‘pre-call announcement’ on July 18th with outline details as well as an online form to 1) register interest and 2) indicate types of support/information that would help applicants best prepare.

From the pre-call announcement and online form, we have determined that 48% of respondents are early career researchers and 71% have not previously had any IAA funding. Furthermore, the top four most selected areas for support/information were:

  1. Specific information and call guidance in relation to this AHRC/EPSRC joint call
  2. General information about the Lancaster University IAA programme
  3. Generating impact from IAA projects or identifying pathways to impact
  4. Top tips for developing and sustaining external partnerships.

This has helped us shape the two pre-call events below. Depending on demand we may repeat sessions - please email j.p.hodge@lancaster.ac.uk if you are not able to attend and wish us to arrange another date. We will record the online event and post a link to it on this webpage and hope that both events will help researchers to prepare for this joint call.
