Lancaster University
The Lancaster University campus is set in 360 acres of parkland with views of the Lake District and the beautiful Lancashire coastline. Since 2003, it has invested in excess of £500m in new college residential and social facilities, new and refurbished teaching spaces, a new sports centre and new research facilities. Security and Protection Science at Lancaster and the new Data Cyber Quarter will be the latest multi-million pound investment in the University's capabilities.
Lancaster's performance in the Research Excellence Framework (2014) has placed it among the top universities in the UK, and this reflects its increasing portfolio of regional, national and international research partnerships, and outstanding record for teaching quality. The University's renowned collegiate system also encourages interactions between staff and students and provides the opportunity to build up interdisciplinary work.
The REF result indicated that there was truly something special about Lancaster and the University was named University of the Year 2018 and International University of the Year 2020 by the Times and the Sunday Times.
