Support after graduation

Our community is one that’s there for you for life. Even after you leave Lancaster, you’ll find support is never far away.

From careers support and events, to access to resources and regional networks, there’re lots of ways to engage with Lancaster. Many graduates also look back fondly on their college experience and continue to connect with their college friends.

And, while many of our students choose to work back in their own country or take up opportunities elsewhere overseas, the UK offers some fantastic visa options for staying in the country for work.

Post-study visas

The Graduate Route is an attractive visa option that allows those that have successfully completed a bachelors or postgraduate qualification in the UK to work or look for work for up to two years. It will also facilitate the move into other work routes that potentially lead to settlement.

More information about the Graduate Route is available on the UK government website.

There are also other visa options open to many international students after they graduate. These include the Skilled Worker visa and the Start-Up Route and Innovator visa.
