Parked cars on campus

Staff Parking

Parking information for University staff and tenants.

Important! Mon-Fri 08:00-18:00 you must clearly display a valid permit, scratch card or pay & display ticket in the windscreen of your vehicle or purchase a digital parking ticket using RinGo Cashless Parking Solution and be parked in the correct area. If you are registered onto a parking permit but don't display the permit in your vehicle windscreen you risk receiving a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Security will not authorise you to park unless you clearly display your valid permit in your vehicle or purchase a digital permit in accordance with the University's Parkig Policy.

Staff should apply for annual parking permits via Flexible Benefits.

Make the switch and get a bigger discount

Staff can benefit from an additional switch discount by opting for a Unirider bus pass in 2023-24 if you had an annual parking permit during 2022-23.

Switch savings are either £50, £36, £24 or £12 depending on when during the year the bus pass commences. The switch prices are available in the Parking and Staff Bus Travel Price List on the Policy and Enforcement page.

1-Day Staff Scratch Cards from the Online Store

Available in strips of 5 cards at a reduced rate of £14 per strip, so just £2.80 per day for parking. Staff can order as many strips as required. Orders are collection only from University House Reception between 09:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday, 5 working days after the online order has been placed.

Annual Permit vs Daily Scratch Cards Option

With many staff now agile working, an annual permit may no longer be the most cost effective option for some. This will depend on how frequently you visit campus over the year as well as your pay grade and FTE level. Beyond a certain frequency of campus visits each week during the year, the annual permit option will be the most cost effective one. The following table provides a summary of the pricing tipping points between the daily scratch card option and the annual permit option.

Blue Badges and Accessible Permits

Accessible Parking Permit charges are in line with other parking permit charges for staff. The annual price for staff is dependent upon grade and FTE level. Valid Blue Badge holders remain exempt from charges for the Accessible Parking Permit.

Staff can refer to the Accessible Parking Permits Eligibility Guidelines on the Policy and Enforcement page for eligibility details and how to apply.

Find out about the 1-day Staff Accessible Scratch Card below.

A 1-day Accessible Scratch Card is available for eligible staff.

These are priced exactly the same as the standard staff scratch cards at £2.80 each (£14 per strip of 5 cards), however, these are valid in all accessible parking bays as well as in staff parking zones, including at the Health Innovation Campus and at South West Campus.

The Car Parking Team will assess eligibility for these scratch cards. Subject to confirmation of your eligibility, Accessible Scratch Cards will be available for you to purchase shortly after on the Online Store.
