Self-care and Wellbeing

Student Mental Health Service

When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can really help. Students at Lancaster University can book one-off Let's Talk appointments with the Student Mental Health service, to talk through any issue or troubles.

Mental health and wellbeing advice line

In partnership with Health Assured, the mental health and wellbeing advice line is open to the Lancaster University community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring help is always available.

Declutter and Donate

Our physical environment greatly impacts our mental and emotional state, and decluttering your living space can create a sense of order and organisation, which reduces stress, improves focus, and allows you to relax and recharge.
Additionally, decluttering often leads to the discovery of items that can be recycled or repurposed, further contributing to our wellbeing by promoting sustainability and instilling a sense of connection to the environment.

Donate items to the Recycling Centre at Restore on Alexandra Square.

Volunteering at Restore

Volunteering allows us to connect with others, contribute to our community, and gives us purpose. By dedicating time and skills to helping others, volunteers experience personal growth, new experiences, different perspectives, and positive challenges; all of which boost mental and emotional wellbeing.

Helping others through volunteering can reduce stress, improve self-esteem, and have physical health benefits while making a meaningful impact.

Sustainable Self-care

Choosing plastic-free alternatives for our personal care products not only prioritises our wellbeing but also contributes to the preservation of our environment. By making a conscious choice to opt for refillable or biodegradable toiletries, we actively reduce our carbon footprint and minimise waste, demonstrating care and responsibility towards the planet.
